9/23/08: At the Zoo

Summer is quickly coming to an end. The weather is still so nice though -- so we decided to go to the zoo for the day. The Levan's are back for the weekend visiting, so Ann and Caitlin went with us.

All 3 kids were taken with the Cheetah. I think the big cat liked them too ... he (or she?) just sat and stared. Made it easy to get a nice picture ...

Braden like all the geese by the lake. He thought it was funny to see them waddle or fly away when he chased after them. I thought it was cute and made a nice picture.

Then I realized how much birdy poop was covering the grass (since this is where the geese/ducks always hang out) and called for him to make a fast retreat. His tennis shoes were covered and required some carefull cleaning with lysol wipes before we could continue on through the zoo. I won't be making that mistake again! From now on, we just watch these birds from a distance.
Dylon is quite a bit older than the last time we went to the zoo. He still slept through part of it! But when he was awake, he noticed more of the animals and seemed to really enjoy it. This bird was one of his favorites. I'm not sure why. Maybe it was because we were inside and closer to it and he could watch it move around more.

Braden and his "girlfriend' enjoyed riding in the wagon together. They couldn't decide who would pull when they did walk, so it was a joint effort. Too cute!

After a fun day, two thirsty kids enjoyed some juice and lunch. Then we headed home for much needed naps. What a great day!
