1/24: Just some pics

Just a few more pictures from the weekend to share:

Boys eating pineapple - I just love these little guys!

Braden loves to say cheese ... and help Brooke do the same.

Dylon decided to dress up in his Pooh costume and Engineer hat.

(1/23) Dave&Buster's

We took the boys to Dave & Buster's on Saturday.

They were excited to play the arcade games - something they haven't had the chance to do very often.  Skee-ball, motorcycle racing, and airhockey where their favorites.

It was a fun day as a family to just hang out and enjoy being together.  We enjoyed having Karen Lash and Ma join with us too.  They had a great time seeing an arcade through the eyes of 2 rambuncious little boys.

Our precious nephew! (1/24)

My brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Tara, are in Ethiopia right now.  They are picking up their son, Mason.  We are so excited that they finally get to hold the little guy and share all the love they have for him.
They fly home through Denver on Friday so we will get to meet them and see Mason too!  I can't wait to hold him and give him hugs and kisses from this Aunt who loves him.

(1/12) Dylon's Buddy

We enjoyed having Dylon's buddy over for the day.  Zayne is the son of our pastor and a few months older than Dylon.  When they see each other at church, Dylon runs to greet his friend.  Zayne has learned to brace himself for the bulldozer hugs.

The boys enjoyed a morning together playing trains, cars, race track, and watching a Thomas DVD.  We almost made it through the morning with no problems ... ALMOST!  If you ask Zayne, he'll show you the owie on his finger where Dylon bit him.  Someday I hope that my son will outgrown this phase of his behavior.

I am very thankful that my son has this friend.  What a precious gift after moving and adjusting to a new life here in Colorado.

(1/16/-1/18) Fun Weekend

What a fun weekend!  Saturday morning we went to have pictures taken.  Braden was due for his 4 year pics and we also had family photos done.  The boys were so good and we got some great shots!

Then we went looking at bunkbeds for the boys.  They were very excited once they discovered what bunk beds really were.  And we were not so excited when we found out how much bunkbeds cost!  So, we are going to be watching craigslist VERY closely to see if we can find some "used" beds.
Sunday Pa and Ma came up and took me out for a belated birthday dinner.  We enjoyed delicious BBQ at a restaurant in Parker (just don't ask me the name right now ... pregnancy brain!).  It was the best BBQ pork, ribs, and coleslaw I've had in a long time!  Almost made me not homesick for Jerry's in Germantown, WI ... Almost!

Monday we enjoyed the amazing 50 degree weather and went to the zoo.  It was such a relaxing day and I loved the time with my family.
Braden's favorite "animal" was the big snake.  He was so mesmerized watching it slither around the cage. We almost had to make him move on to the next exhibit.

Dylon's favorite was the elephant.  He stood with Mommy and watched for the longest time.

Both boys were very excited to see the big brown bears too.  One was digging a hole in the dirt and then sat on it.

It was so fun to see them interested in the animals instead of just rushing through.  They were very interested in the maps and "helping" Daddy with the wagon.

(1/14) Excited Big Brother

Braden is very excited about the new baby --- and seems to have quickly adjusted to it being a girl.
We went shopping a few days ago and Braden found the following items that the little girl REALLY needed to have.   As he said, "this shirt is just sooo cute!"   I am so thankful for this loving little boy.  What a lucky little girl to have him for her big brother.

(1/10) New bed

Last night we moved Dylon from his crib to a twin bed. The final goal is to move him into Braden's room and get the boys bunkbeds before the baby arrives. His room is a little crowded for the time (we left the crib in there ... just in case!), but he doesn't seem to mind.

We went shopping last week and he helped me pick out a new blanket for his big bed. We were also able to find the same material I used for Braden's comforter 2 1/2 years ago so we can make them to match for their shared room. Dylon was so excited that he climbed right in to the bed and layed down.

He talked and moved around a bit, but never got out of bed. And he slept all night long! Now we just have to wait and see if he truly is this easy or it was just a lucky start. He's always been our good sleeper and says thank you when you put him to bed, so maybe this is one battle we won't have to have with him!
Naptime today (1/11) went fairly well too. He played a bit, but after about 1 hour was sound asleep - again, never climbing out of the bed. I had to sneak in to take a picture -- so very cute!

A new year ... a new gender!

2010 is here and I'm determined to blog more often! Sorry to all that I got so far behind. This new little life growing inside has taken it's toll on me and I've used my downtime for naps instead of household chores and fun stuff like blogging.

So, here's to a new year full of lots of changes!

One BIG change coming our way is PINK! We found out on Friday (1/6) that this precious little one is going to be a girl. We are so excited!!! A healthy baby is all we really wanted - but we are overjoyed that God has given us this special gift. Both mom's/grandma's were able to be at the ultrasound with us. It was fun to share the experience with both of them.

Here are a couple of pictures of our little girl. She is already on the go alot and has decided that her thumb is her best friend.
The ultrasound also took a couple of 3D photos for us. In this one, we watched her as she put her thumb in her mouth.

Braden and Dylon are excited for the baby to come. When we showed them the pictures and told them it was a "girl baby", Braden smacked his head, fell to the floor and said - "Oh, I thought it was a boy baby!" Dylon has said all along that he thought it was a "dirl" and was happy to hold and kiss, kiss, kiss the ultrasound picture. Daily, Braden asks when he can feel the baby kick. He is so interested to know everything that is happening. Dylon loves to give the baby kisses and hugs. This little girl will definately be loved and protected by her two big brothers. And probably very spoiled by everyone else!
