10/4: Fire Dept. Open House

We just got home from an Open House at the Germantown Fire Dept. We went with the Benes family (Brian and Erin) -- some Husker friends from church. They have twin boys Tyler and Jacob (age 6) and a little girl, Haley (15 months). Braden loves hanging out with the "big" boys!

Having never been to an open house before, I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was so fun. We were able to see the police dog in action and watch them use the jaws of life to save some victims from a car. I'm glad that they have it, but hope it never needs to be used on anyone that I know and love! There was a line up of trucks to look at and climb inside, the ladder truck took firemen up and down, and there was even a course to try out being a fireman. Braden also loved the jumphouse shaped like Sparky the firedog. We planned to be there for about 1 hour, and ended up staying for about 3! What a fun family day!

Now the boys are ALL napping! I think mommy is going to try to get a rest in too!

They sure are growing fast. I enjoy "keeping up" with your family! You always seem to find so much outdoor fun!
