Zoo - 2/7/09

The weather has been so nice, that we headed off to the zoo. It was fun to see some of the new exhibits. Daddy was able to go with us too. It was his first daytime visit to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

VIDEO: All 3 boys enjoyed feeding the giraffees!

It is so fun to feed the giraffes at the zoo. They come right up to you and their noses are velvetty soft.

Braden enjoyed "riding" the lion.
Somedays, I think these two really belong in the monkey house!
The boys went for a ride on the carousel. Braden was excited to go up and down and wave at Pa and Ma as we went round and round. Dylon was excited to get on, but his mood quickly changed. He was not excited with the speed and movement and clung to Mommy for dear life. But, he only wimpered and never really cried. Wonder if he'll want to go on it again next time?
We all enjoyed watching the porcipine eat his lunch. He looked so soft and cuddly ... I had no idea! Braden has taken to eating his carrots and apples just like this adorable animal! Munch-Munch-Munch!

The mountain lions had a new exhibit. There is a glass tunnel that you walk through and the big cats are all around you. I am never very comfortable with how intently they stare at my children. Hmmm, think they want lunch?

Each visit to the zoo, we take a picture in the BIG chair. This was our first picture as a family. And before you think that I have 2 homeless children, let me explain the outfits. It was a beautiful day, but had started to cool down. We had used Braden's sweatshirt to cover Dylon's legs. (notice the cars sweatshirt and no feet showing ...). When Braden got cold, we slipped Dylon's coat onto him (notice the TOO small arms). I'm sure we got some great looks behind our backs as we were heading out of the zoo. But, at least they were warm!
My homeless child (AKA Braden), enjoyed petting the goat. And the goat didn't even care that he was dressed funny!
Our last stop was at the Ape House. This little guy stared right back at us.
It was a great day at the zoo. And we took two happy and VERY tired boys home for naps!
