July 30: Lake Hike w/ Shaw's

Even though we just got home, company followed close behind. Steve, Angie (Chad's cousin), and Kaleb flew in to visit on July 29. We were so excited to have some time alone with them and get to show them around Wisconsin. Braden and Dylon loved having the extra attention too!

We went for a hike along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Fortunately, we went in the morning since it was quite hot by the time we got home. It was such a clear day and the water was calm and bright blue.

Uncle Kaleb and Braden became good buddies! I'm not sure who was having more fun.

The walk to the lake ended up being a little longer than we realized. But the scenery, and company, was well worth it.

Our little guy gave in and took a little nap. He loves to snuggle his face into his frog or blanket at home and found a way to do it even in the stroller.

We finally made it down to the beach. Hot, sweaty, and glad to be together. Dylon didn't seem to care about the water -- he slept through it all.

Braden and Daddy had fun playing in the waves and throwing rocks into the water. I guess that boys will be boys.

Dylon woke up as we were hiking back up the trail. He thought that the back-pack ride was fun too. Now he was up tall like the rest of us and closer to Mommy!
Thankfully, Uncle Kaleb took over and carried Dylon the rest of the way. That 20# getsvery heavy after awhile!
