July 11 - 13: Trip to Alb.

We went on a FAMILY vacation with a little work travel mixed in. Overall, we left home on July 11th and returned on July 27th. It was so much fun to have some relaxing time and see family ... but oh so sweet to come home too. Here's a few of the highlights, split up into several blogs to make it a little easier.

JULY 11: We flew as a family to Albuquerque, New Mexico to see Trista's Great-Aunt Jane and Great-Uncle Cliff. It had been about 10 years since she had last had the chance to see them. The boys traveled well on the plane and both even took naps. Pa, Ma, and Uncle Jeremy drove down to meet us in Alb.

JULY 12: It was so much fun to introduce Braden and Dylon to their GREAT-GREAT Uncle and Aunt! Dylon decided it was time to scoot/crawl while we were here. He is growing up just too fast! I think that Dylon thought he needed a cane like Uncle Cliff's too! I'm not sure which one of these boys had more fun!?
It was such a joy to be able to share my sons with these two very special people. It brought back so many good memories of my visits as a child with them.
We went over to Old Towne for a while on Saturday afternoon to give Aunt Jane and Uncle Cliff and much needed rest! It was Chad's first time seeing the area and he enjoyed the architecture. The "adult" boys were all hoping to find a taco cart, but no such luck. Maybe next time!
That evening, we took the boys for a swim in the pool. Braden enjoyed showing off his new skills from swimming lessons. Daddy even took him for a ride on his back -- as you can tell, Braden thought this was lots of fun. Uncle Jeremy enjoyed his time with his nephews too. He is such a wonderful uncle to my boys!

JULY 13: Braden really enjoyed the fist in the pond outside their complex. Aunt Jane took some bread crumbs out and Braden loved feeding the fish.

All too soon, it was time for us to leave. I am so thankful for this chance that we had to see my Uncle Cliff and Aunt Jane and for them to meet my family.

On the way back to Colorado Springs, we stopped in Las Vegas, New Mexico for lunch. We had some of the best authentic mexican food -- YUMMY! So spicy hot! Defiantely need to go back!!!

We also stopped at Sonic and Mommy was very excited about 1/2 price slushies! Braden joined right in on the excitement and since Uncle Jeremy was catching it all on video ... we carried on for a bit. I just love having a little shadow!

On Monday, July 14, Chad flew on to CA for a week of business. The boys and Mommy got to stay with Pa and Ma in Colorado Springs.
