The Rest of August

Since I've gotten so behind in the blog, I decided to just lump a few of the months memories together in one post. Enjoy!

8/08: Let me introduce you to the newest Super Hero in Jackson, WI! He's about 3 feet tall, weighs 32 pounds, has killer brown eyes, is amazingly squeezable, full of contagious laughter ... it's NAKED BOY! He makes regular visits to our house and can be seen at any time of day. Thank goodness for the accessories he was wearing on this day as they provided a G-rated picture! (Someday, Naked Boy may not be so happy that Mommy posted this for all the world to see ... but it is just way too cute!)

8/09: We FINALLY have the bikes and kids seats ALL in working order. So, today we went for a bike ride. Braden was very excited to sit on the back of Daddy's bike and could have riden all day. Dylon wasn't too sure what he thought about the Burley, especially when we went over bumps. He's not quite the daredevil that this Big Brother is!

8/09: After the bike ride, we decided to continue our family fun day, so we headed to McDonald's for lunch. Braden loves to go "Wheeee" down the slides in the playland. IceCream with Daddy made the day even better! And Dylon loves to eat ... he ate nonstop almost the entire time we were there -- chx nuggets, french fries, apple slices, & yogurt. And trying out the spoon like a big boy was very exciting too! So, we decided that they both go to do what they like best ... Braden - Slide! Dylon - Eat!

8/11: We've had playdough sitting in the cupboard for quite a while, but never gotten it out for some reason. Today, while Dylon was sleeping, Braden expreienced the joys of rolling, cutting, and cookie imprinting. He was so fascinated and intent on what he was doing.

8/11: Dylon LOVES to eat! And unlike his big brother, he is not afraid or unhappy to make a mess.
Spaghetti night is quite the adventure at our house. Think he enjoyed it?!

8/13: Braden decided that his "baby" (as he still calls Dylon) needed to watch a show with him. And being a good big brother, wanted to make sure that they were both snuggled in with their blankets. What a glimpse into the future of many more times (I hope!) like these where my boys are so content to just be with each other.

8/15: Braden was such a great patient when he had his tonsils and adenoids removed. Watching him at home that first day, you almost wouldn't have known that he'd had surgery in the morning. His dinner that night was quite commical though ... koolaid, sherbert, and a popsicle. Not every day Daddy and Mommy want you to eat that much sugar!

8/23: Hmmm, words don't seem to even be able to express the joy that fills my heart when I see this picture! Just a typical Saturday morning in our home, that at times like these, is oh so PERFECT!

8/26: Our dear friends, Jeremy and Ann Levan, are moving back to Indiana. Their daughter, Caitlin, is one of Braden's best friends. While they were packing and preparing to move, they "lived" with us for a a few days. What a special time for all of us. And these two enjoyed every minute. We're going to really miss them and their presence in our lives. But, distance won't end this incredible friendship!

I captured the next "loving" moment while they were sitting on the couch watching a movie together. "Give Caitlin some loves" I said, thinking they would hug, and instead, they took full advantage of the situation! I think we're going to have to watch this guy when he gets older!

8/27: Dylon learned how to use a cup while we were on vacation this summer. When he wakes up from naps, he can't wait to have his milk. I'm still not quite used to seeing this adorable guy tipping his head back in delight. Where has my baby gone?
